TRY TASAR SAILING - 2026
INFORMATION & REGISTRATION

BACKGROUND: TASAR NSW and Balmoral Sailing Club (BSC) wish to invite prospective sailors to come and have a go. There will be opportunity to sail on a TASAR, talk with experienced sailors about the TASAR community, investigate the options for sailing a TASAR regularly - buying a boat, storage, costs, support offered and much more. These sessions have been designed to help introduce experienced sailors to the opportunity of competitive racing, fun and travel.

PARTICIPANTS: Should be interested in exploring sailing a TASAR at BSC. Key criteria for inclusion in the program include:

·         Solo Registration - At least 3 years of sailing experience                     Mandatory

·         2 Person Rego – One person must have 3 years sailing experience    Mandatory 

·         3 years of sail racing experience                                                            Desirable

·         Reasonably fit and strong                                                                        Desirable

SESSION CAPACITY: We will be limiting enrolments to ensure everyone has ample time on the water in a TASAR. We may organise a follow up session if required.

DATE & TIMES:We plan to run the session on the Saturday 14th of November 2026. Exact timing and structure for the day may change due to the weather forecast but the plan is to arrive about 10.15am and finish by 4pm.

SESSION CONTENT & STRUCTURE: Please note that this is a draft plan and may change due to weather or other factors. All sessions are designed to be interactive, and participants are encouraged to ask questions.

Notes: The formal session should be complete by about 3pm but participants are welcome to continue to enjoy a drink and discussion with other sailors. Times are approximate.
