Welcome to the Northam Hockey Club 2026 Season

The Northam Hockey Club (NHC) is part of the Avon Hockey Association. NHC facilitates hockey teams for junior and senior players. Please read the information below before you register.

Juniors

The Northam Hockey Club provides the opportunity for junior members to join one of the teams based on their school year. Each team is part of the same grade, consisting of both girls and boys. This 2026 year the club will build the following teams;

Two 5/6 teams for school years 6 and under

Two 7/9 teams for school years 7 to 9

Two 10/12 teams for school years 10 to 12. 

Minkey is for members who wish to learn to play hockey. Recommended for ages 5 to 10. (child turns 5 by 31 December 2026)

At registration, please nominate your school year.

All players will be placed in teams based on creating balanced Northam teams to compete in the Avon Hockey Association.

Automatic considerations are made for players residing outside of Northam (as previously done).

Any other team requests need to be in writing to the committee (northamhockeyclub@gmail.com) before the season starts and will be considered by the committee on a case by case basis. 

The Northam Hockey Club continues to support players from Cunderdin Ag College.

These players will be required to pay NHC fees under the normal Northam Hockey Club - Junior Player registration. 

Junior Fees

The Junior fees for the 2026 season are as follows.

Hockey Australia Levy              $57.86             (payable only once per calander year)

NHC Junior Development      $10.00            

NHC Fees                                $145.00

TOTAL                                      $212.86

Minkey Fees

For players wishing to learn how to play hockey, the Northam hockey club offers a short program running over 10 weeks in term 2, Wednesday afternoons, 3.30pm to 4.15pm.

The Minkey pack is an optional purchase through the club. You are welcomed to visit any sports store to purchase a required hockey stick and shin pads. Mouth Guards are not compulsory for Minkey, but encouraged to purchase. Mouth guards are compulsory for all junior playing for teams in the Avon Hockey Association Competition.

Hockey Australia Levy              $23.81             (payable only once per calander year)

Minkey Pack (optional)       $50.00              (Includes hockey stick (sized), shin pads and ball.)

NHC Fees                                $33.00

TOTAL                                      $106.81 ($56.81 without minkey pack)

Seniors

Players over 19 years of age register as seniors and pay the Hockey Australia Levy $70.22

Plus $267 club fees.

Total $337.22

Juniors playing with Seniors

Juniors wishing to play with Seniors as a full senior member as well as a full junior member will pay $267 plus hockey Australia Levy ($57.86). This covers both junior and senior memberships.

For 18 year olds outside school, select the same Junior playing with Seniors membership.

Fill in players

Players that wish to fill in for up to 3 games can play a reduced membership fee. This will be $30 plus Hockey Australia fees ($57.86 juniors, $70.22 seniors).

Players will not be eligible for finals unless they play full membership fees.

If you started with a fill-in membership and wish to play more games and qualify for finals, you will need to pay the remaider of the full player membership fees. ($125 for juniors, $237 for seniors).

Fees are required before you play. Other payment options include Kidsport vouchers and payment plans. Please see below for more information.

NHC is a kidsport eligible club. Up to $212.86 is eligible to be used with your kidsport voucher.

Before registration, please apply for your kidsport voucher, once you receive your code please email the code to the club treasurer Allison (illafergub@gmail.com). 

You will receive instructions by email on how to apply your Kidsport voucher to your fees. 

Please note, the $57.86 Hockey Australia Levy can not be discounted through revoultioniseSPORT and will need to be paid at the time of registration. Northam Hockey Club will refund you the Hockey Australia Levy to your bank account.

Payment plans

Payment plans are available upon registration. Junior and Senior fees are split over 8 fortnights.

Minkey payment plans can be split over 3 weeks.
