Northam Hockey Club has adopted the policies and guidelines adopted by Hockey WA, including the relevant Hockey Australia national policies, to support a consistent approach to safety, fairness, conduct and governance across all levels of hockey.
Code of Conduct
Northam Hockey Club (NHC), in line with Hockey WA, has adopted the Hockey Australia’s national Code of Conduct policy.The Code of Conduct sets out the expected standards of behaviour for everyone involved in hockey.
The Code of Conduct forms part of Hockey Australia’s National Integrity Framework, providing a consistent national standard for safe, respectful and inclusive participation in hockey.
Concussion Policy
The HA Concussion Policy has been designed to be a practical resource to ensure that all concussions and suspected concussions are appropriately identified and managed and those who suffer a concussion receive timely and appropriate care and guidance to return them to everyday activities and sport safely.

CONCUSSION PROTOCOL FOR FINALS
Any player who sustains a head injury as a result of contact with another player, a stick, the ball, or the ground will be immediately removed from play and will not be permitted to return to the field during that match. The player will then be subject to Hockey Australia’s 21-day Concussion Policy. They may only return to play in subsequent matches after providing written medical clearance to the Association Secretary at avonhockey@live.com.au.
