Welcome to Minchinbury Little Athletics
Minchinbury Little Athletics Centre (LAC) holds competitions on Friday nights at Minchinbury Reserve, Minchin Drive, Minchinbury.
Competition
Our first competition night for 2026/2027 will be Friday 11th September.
Minchinbury LAC offers competitions for all registered athletes aged 3 (born in 2022 and 3 at the time of registration) to 20 years old.
Competition starts at 6:00 pm, and we would like children and parents there by 5:50 pm so parents can assist in running the night.
Before your child can compete, they must have completed theted the full registration process, including pick-up of registration packs, bibs, and purchase of any compulsory uniform needs.
Trialist information.
If you are unsure if your child will enjoy Little Athletics, we offer a 2-week trial period for new members only. In-person registration only. It is $20 cash, and you will need to bring proof of age.
Competition nights:
Finishing time for Tiny Tots and 6's is estimated to be around 7.30 pm; all other age groups should be finished by 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm, depending on parent support and the number of athletes in each age group. Factors that can affect what time we finish for the night are whether the athletes have done the event before, the size of the groups, the number of parents helping within each group and how many tracks we can run for the night. When we run 1 track, all the children have to wait while each track event for each age, from Tiny Tots to 17s, is completed. This is why it is vital that we have additional support at the track, and more track recorders at the finish line.
Volunteering and committee.
We are always looking for more volunteers; they are vital to the successful running of each competition night. So if you think you might be able to help even in a small way, come and speak to any of your friendly committee members!
Competition pathways
Through Minchinbury LAC and in conjunction with Athletics NSW and Australian Athletics, we offer several competitive pathways for children aged 8 and above. Please keep an eye out for more information as it becomes available.

Throughout the year, we host several events and fun nights. You can find a list on our calendar tab or in the centre handbook. We will also post reminders about these events throughout the season.
Weather updates
While we endeavour to run each night and give as much notice as possible if a competition night is cancelled, unfortunately some nights we are at the mercy of the weather. In these cases, please assume that the competition will run as normal. We will endeavour to post an update on Facebook and via email if a competition is not going ahead; however, we cannot guarantee how close to the competition start this will be.
Minchinbury Little Athletics IS NOT a babysitting service.
It is a sports event for children. While we appreciate that everyone is busy, we are concerned at the increasing number of children being left by their parents on competition nights and at training. If you need to be away from the field while competition or training is running, you must let the age manager know who will be responsible for your child/children, as Minchinbury Little Athletics Centre Inc. cannot be held responsible.
