Fundraising for an Accessible Bathroom
A call for Pledges
At present, the ground floor of the clubhouse has basic changeroom/toilet facilities and an outdoor shower area. The toilets are difficult to access by many of our mainly social older members - being a long way from the ground floor lift and across uneven terrain. The club also realises some of our individual members and families are not using the outdoor shower area but would use new facilities providing privacy.
The club has an upgrade project planned that provides:
1. A wheelchair accessible toilet with shower in close proximity to the lift access on the ground floor.
2. A shower to be included within an expanded changeroom.
The anticipated cost of the project is approximately $110,000.
We are extremely grateful to Bendigo Bank for their generous donation of $25,000 towards the project. The Yacht Club has committed $20,000 to the project. We are currently running a pledge campaign to raise the remaining funds. Once we have raised enough to proceed with the project, we will request those who have pledged to make the donation via the Australian Sports Foundation.
