Dragon boating is one of Australia's fastest growing sports, having originated in Southern China over 2000 years ago. It started gathering interest in the western world in the 1970s.
We paddle and train on the beautiful Top Lake, Merimbula. Social paddles can take us to several other fabulous local waterways and racing takes us further afield including interstate and internationally.
Some facts about dragon boating:
it is a water sport and you may get wet
is exciting, exhilarating and fun
provides an opportunity to enjoy Dragon Boat Racing in a spirit of good companionship, enthusiasm and involvement within a supportive club environment
provides a means to raise general levels of fitness
is a safe, non contact sport
provides a means for competitive racing involving travel
is a great way to make new friends
