Maroondah Eastern Institute of Volleyball (MEIV) – 2026

The Maroondah Eastern Institute of Volleyball (MEIV) is Maroondah Volleyball’s structured athlete development program for secondary school students.

MEIV provides a clear development pathway, supporting athletes as they progress from learning the fundamentals of volleyball through to club, Youth League, and higher-level representative opportunities.

Athletes are placed into programs that best suit their age, experience, and stage of development, ensuring appropriate challenge, enjoyment, and long-term growth.

MEIV Development Pathway

MEIV operates across four progressive development stages:

Juniors

For students new to volleyball or with limited experience.

Focus on fundamental skills, basic movement, and introduction to game concepts.

Intermediate

For students with some volleyball experience.

Focus on consolidating core skills, improving game understanding, teamwork, and court awareness.

Development

For athletes who have demonstrated strong foundational skills and are ready for higher-level training.

Focus on technical refinement, tactical concepts, and preparation for competitive volleyball environments.

Advanced

For athletes identified as ready for performance-focused training.

Focus on advanced skills, systems, and preparation for representative pathways.

MEIV Programs, Schedule & Pricing – 2026

MEIV programs are delivered across multiple days, each aligned to specific stages of the development pathway.

Tuesday
Core MEIV Program

Levels: Juniors & Intermediate

Time: 4:30pm – 6:00pm

Program focus: Core MEIV training focusing on skill development, game understanding, and progression through the Juniors and Intermediate pathway.

Pricing: $200 per term

Sunday
Competition-Aligned Program

Levels: Juniors & Intermediate

Time:
• 2:30pm – 4:00pm (Training)
• 4:15pm – 5:15pm (Youth League Games)

Program focus: MEIV training followed by Youth League competition, providing athletes with a structured training-to-game pathway.

Pricing:
• $200 per term (training + games)
• $50 per term (Youth League games only)

Monday
Performance Program

Levels: Development & Advanced

Time:4:30pm – 6:30pm

Entry: By invitation only

Program focus: Performance-focused training for athletes identified as ready for higher-intensity, advanced skill and tactical development aligned to representative pathways.

Pricing: $225 per term

MEIV Enrolment

Assessments & Invitations

To ensure athletes are placed in the most appropriate program:

Athletes may be assessed prior to joining MEIV
Invitations apply to Development & Advanced (Monday) programs only

Youth League

Youth League competitions are held on Sunday afternoons, immediately following Sunday MEIV training sessions.

Membership Requirement (Required Before Registration)

All participants must hold a current Volleyball Victoria membership and be registered with Maroondah Volleyballbefore registering for MEIV.

Membership Registration

The following membership categories are applicable to MEIV:

Training Membership(minimum required for MEIV training)
Recreational Membership(required if participating in Local League competitions)
Full Membership(required if participating in Victorian Volleyball League (VVL))

Most athletes only require a Training membership to participate in MEIV.
If an athlete later progresses into Local League or VVL, their membership can be upgraded at any time.
