Welcome to the Maroondah Volleyball League (MVL) — one of Melbourne’s largest and longest-running community volleyball competitions.

Whether you’re:

• entering a team,

• looking to join a team,

• interested in refereeing, or

• already playing and just want your draws and results,

you’re in the right place.

MVL offers structured, well-run competitions across multiple nights of the week, catering for social, competitive, and developing players in a supportive and inclusive environment.

How the Maroondah Volleyball League Works

MVL is a team-based indoor volleyball competition run year-round at Maroondah venues.

Seasons

• Winter Season: April – September

• Summer Season: September – April

• Sunday Competitions: Run as shorter, term-based seasons

Teams play one match per week at a scheduled time, with divisions graded to ensure competitive and enjoyable matches.

Entering a Team

Teams are welcome to enter MVL at any stage, subject to availability.

Costs

• Team Entry Fee: $70 (per season)

• Match Fee:

  • $70 per game (pay-as-you-go), or

  • $65 per game if invoiced for the full season
    (season invoices can be paid in instalments)

What teams need to know

• Teams are responsible for scoring and duty for their own match

• MVL provides a qualified referee for every game

• All competitions are graded — new teams are placed into an appropriate division

Don’t have a team? No problem.

MVL maintains a player expression-of-interest list, which team managers regularly access when looking for players.

This is ideal if you:

• are new to the area,

• missed team registrations,

• are returning after a break, or

• want to play but don’t yet know anyone.
