General Pennant Information

  • First matches commence at 6:30pm and players must arrive by 8:00pm to avoid forfeiting their match
  • The highest ranked grades can finish anywhere between 9pm and 10pm depending on the length of the matches before them.
  • It is preferable that juniors play early incase they need to leave, but usually the lowest grades (7) will play first, ending up with the higher ranked grades (1) playing last as the showcase matches.
  • All players are expected to referee or score a match, as we do not have individual people to do these roles.
Lots of assistance will be given if you are new to the sport to learn how to do this.
  • All participants play at own risk: the squash club is not responsible for any costs incurred as a result of injury.
Safety eyewear is recommended and can be bought on site, or borrowed to trial.
  • Supper food is provided by club members each night, which is rotated between teams throughout the competition.
  • It is your responsibility to organise your own sub as early as possible! Inform your opponent and captain no later than 6:00pm on the night of play.
  • Please wear different shoes to the courts so the courts aren’t dirtied.
  • In special circumstances, players may arrange to play earlier than 6:30pm but you need to arrange a scorer/referee.
YOU CANNOT SWAP NIGHTS OF PLAY. Please notify your opponent and captain if you need to play early or late.

Supper

  • Each team member on supper duty provides food
  • Food can be: sausage rolls, party pies, sandwhich triangles, fruit platters, slice, quiche, dip/chip platters, or even pizza when you get lazy. Just something light and snacky so playing members can eat quickly between matches, scoring and reffing duties.
  • Supper duties include washing up dishes, leaving the kitchen tidy and emptying of bins. The draw will advise you when you are on food/clean up duties, so you can plan out and arrange in advance.
  • Supper is opened/started at 8pm

Substitute Players/Unavailibility

  • When a prior unavailability is known, write your name and substitute on the unavailability list upstairs.
  • Substitutes are first to be drawn from the sub list of your line, but if not available, subs are to be the next graded player immediately below you on the grading list, and so on down the list until you find a willing player.
  • If your substitute player is to play two matches on the night, they must play their own match first.
  • The substitute player must also inform their team captain that they are playing an extra match so they can ensure scorers and referees available.
  • No more than two matches can be played on one night per person.
  • Substitute players must be registered for Insurance
