SSWPA Seals – Representative Water Polo for U12s
Nurturing the Future of Water Polo in the Sutherland Shire
The SSWPA Seals are the representative water polo teams for players aged 12 and under, selected from clubs across the Sutherland Shire Water Polo Association (SSWPA)—including Gunnamatta Water Polo Club. For many young athletes, the Seals program is their first introduction to representative water polo, offering a structured, fun, and development-focused environment.
The Seals provide a vital first step for junior players who are passionate about the game and ready to take on new challenges in a team-focused setting.
What is the SSWPA?
The Sutherland Shire Water Polo Association (SSWPA) is the governing body for junior water polo in the Shire. It supports and coordinates local competition, player development programs, and representative opportunities like the Seals.
Who Are the Seals For?
The Seals program is designed for boys and girls aged 12 and under who demonstrate:
- Strong fundamental water polo skills
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Enthusiasm for teamwork and competition
Players are selected through annual trials and club coach recommendations.
What Players Gain from the Seals Program
