About Gunnamatta Water Polo Club

Gunnamatta Water Polo Club is a vibrant, community-focused junior water polo club based in the heart of the Sutherland Shire, proudly affiliated with the Cronulla Sutherland Water Polo Club.

We are dedicated to developing young athletes and growing a love of the game in a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment. From beginners just learning the basics to experienced juniors looking to refine their skills, Gunnamatta provides a structured pathway for water polo players of all abilities.

Who We Are

• Founded to support grassroots junior water polo in the Sutherland Shire

• Affiliated with Cronulla Sutherland Water Polo Club – one of Australia's premier national league clubs

• Competing in the Sutherland Shire Water Polo Association (SSWPA) – the official local competition for junior water polo in southern Sydney

Our players range in age from 7 to Opens, with divisions from All Stars and U10 through to U15s and 18s, and even open-age teams. Many of our junior athletes go on to represent the Cronulla club in higher-level competitions including state and national leagues.

Our Community

We are proud to be part of the Sutherland Shire Water Polo Association, which provides a strong local competition for clubs in the area. Gunnamatta teams compete weekly during the spring and summer seasons at the Sutherland Leisure Centre, a top-class aquatic venue centrally located in the Shire.

We work closely with Cronulla Water Polo Club to offer our players access to advanced training opportunities and representative team pathways.
