Gosford Junior Racing Fleet

Once kids transition out of the Learn to Sail Pathway (Green Fleet Program), they are encouraged to join the Junior Racing Fleet.
The Juniors (aged 11-17) race every Saturday throughout the sailing season.

Typical Junior Fleet Saturday Racing Schedule:

Additional Training:  February-March 2026
In addition to the Core Racing Program, kids are encouraged to take part in additional training during the week via the Gosford Sailing Academy. This helps develop confidence and supports racing skills.

What Classes Are Sailed

The Junior fleet has multiple classes and fleets which race regularly on Saturday afternoons. These include:

  • Open Skiffs, Sabots, Optimists, PJ's
  • F11s, RS Fevas, ILCA 4.7s

Experienced Sailors – How To Join

Get a boat and come on down to Gosford Sailing Club….

  1. Graduated from the Green Fleet Sailing Academy Learn to Sail
  2. Purchased a suitable racing boat (Open Skiff, Sabot, Optimist, F11, ILCA 4.7)
  3. Become a junior sailing member of the Gosford Sailing Club - $100. (Click Here)

  4. Register into the annual racing program by completing race entry- $100. (Click Here)

  5. Have Insurance for racing that includes $10m Public liability and 3rd Party Insurance. (Click Here

  6. Buy suitable safety gear such as a tow rope, enclosed shoes and life jacket.
