So you want to Learn to Sail?
The Start Crewing Course is the first step on the Australian Sailing accredited pathway to learning how to sail a small keelboat. The course is ideal for anyone with no previous sailing experience looking to learn the basics of sailing. Upon successful completion of the 12-hour course (run over 4 weeks) you will understand basic sailing terminology, ropework, safety procedures, rigging, wind awareness and sail trim. Upon successful completion of the 12-hour course (run over 4 weeks) you can join twilight racing on Wednesday afternoons or continue on into the Start Helming Course (run over 4 weeks). You will come away the knowledge and confidence to crew on a small keelboat.

Outcomes |
This will allow participants the freedom of sailing small keelboats with the guidance of an Australian Sailing Keelboat Instructor and experienced GSC Keelboat Skipper. It will also provide you with a unique, inclusive introduction to crewing on keelboats with ongoing support from GSC. |
