History

The sport of Floorball was invented in Sweden in the 1960's, with the basic rules of the game being formalised in the late 70's/early 80's. The highest global floorball body world-wide - the International Floorball Federation - was established in the mid-80's.

The Australian Floorball Association (now Floorball Australia Ltd.) was established about a decade later, in the mid 90's. The association was granted recognition by the Australian Sports Commission in 2018, after a lengthy review process of their initial submission, which was made in 2014.

The Victorian Floorball Association Inc (Floorball Vic) was officially incorporated in 2002, and has had varying degrees of activity since. As of 2020, Floorball Vic was officially formalised as the governing state body of floorball in Victoria.
