Thanks to the generous support of Kiewa Mitta Murray Community Enterprise Ltd, a franchisee of Bendigo & Adelaide Bank Ltd, the Falls Creek Race Club (FCRC) is pleased to offer four (4) local scholarships, to a total value of $8,000*. These scholarships are designed to provide financial assistance to emerging snowboard or ski athletes participating in either part-time or full-time seasonal programs in 2026, including the 2 weeks of the June/July school holidays.
The scholarships encourage new members, who reside in the local alpine area and surrounding regions within the Ovens Murray and Albury catchment (as defined by the Department of Education) to join Falls Creek Race Club and participate in Falls Creek Winter Sports Programs.
The 2026 scholarship offer includes three (3) Local Scholarships and one (1) Ovens Murray catchment & Albury Region.
Eligibility Criteria
Age Requirement: Applicants must be born between 2009 and 2020. (ie age 6 - 17 in 2026)
Residency: Applicants must live full-time and attend school year-round in either:
Falls Creek or the surrounding alpine regions, specifically in the Upper Kiewa Valley or Ovens Valley. Eligible schools include Falls Creek PS, Mount Beauty PS, Mount Beauty SC, Tawonga PS, Dederang PS, Bright P-12 College, Porepunkah PS, Wandiligong PS, Harrietville PS, Myrtleford P-12, St Mary’s PS, and Marian College.
Within the broader Ovens Murray Catchment region and Albury. Eligible schools include schools located in Alpine, Benalla, Indigo, Mansfield, Towong, Wangaratta, Wodonga and Albury local government areas.
Skill Level: Applicants must meet the minimum required skill level for the Development, Alpine, Freeride, or Snowboard program, as specified on the Falls Creek Ski Lifts website.
Membership: Applicants must be a new member to FCRC in 2026.
Participation:Applicants must be a new participantin either full-time or part-time Winter Sports Program at Falls Creek, in 2026.
Scholarship Conditions
Program Participation: Athletes must enrol in either full-time or part-time programs.
Membership: Maintain FCRC membership throughout the scholarship period.
Additional Costs: Scholarship does not cover additional costs, including uniforms, lift passes, program fees, Snow Australia membership, resort entry, and competition entry fees.
Club Representation: Participate in essential club events such as fundraising, social events, and competitions like the Rossignol Cup.
Uniform: FCRC uniform must be worn at all training and event representations.
Sponsor Acknowledgement: The successful applicant must formally acknowledge Kiewa Mitta Murray Community Enterprise Ltd, a franchisee of Bendigo & Adelaide Bank Ltd, by either submitting a signed letter or a recorded video message.
Assessment Criteria
Skill Level: Evaluate applicants based on their skiing ability and potential as demonstrated in their application. Considerations may include previous competition results, coach recommendations, or skills assessment results.
Commitment and Dedication: Assess the applicant's commitment to the sport, including their attendance at training sessions, participation in competitions, and dedication to improvement.
Financial Need: Evaluate the financial situation of the applicant's family, assessing whether they would struggle to afford ski equipment, competition fees, and other associated costs without the scholarship.
Attitude and Sportsmanship: Assess the applicant's attitude towards training, competition, and fellow racers, looking for qualities such as sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive attitude towards challenges.
Community Involvement: Evaluate the applicant's involvement in the Falls Creek community and any contributions they have made to FCRC.
Important Dates
Scholarship applications must be submitted by EOD 31 May 2026
Scholarships to be awarded by 12 June 2026.
Scholarship payments to be made to successful candidates by 30 June 2026.
Sponsor acknowledgement must be completed by successful candidates by 30 October 2026.
