As we head towards the end of another busy season, there is plenty happening both on and off the field. With finals approaching, our senior season drawing to a close and preparations already underway for what comes next, we wanted to share some important dates, reminders and opportunities with our hockey community.

Finishing the Season Strong

We are now at the pointy end of the season, with finals just around the corner and our junior competitions also coming to a close.

We encourage all players, parents and spectators to keep the respect, positivity and encouragement going right through to the final whistle. It is also an important time to acknowledge the people who make our season possible.

A huge thank you to our coaches, team managers, coordinators, umpires and volunteers for the time and effort you have put in week after week. Your contribution is what keeps our Association moving forward, and we are incredibly grateful for everything you do.

Good luck to everyone taking the field over the coming weeks. We hope to see plenty of our hockey community supporting teams throughout the finals series.

2026 Turf Raffle – Tickets Still Available

Our Turf Raffle is now live, and we need your help to sell more tickets!

With some great prizes up for grabs, every ticket purchased also helps support the ongoing development of our new turf and facilities.

There are no paper tickets – simply scan the QR code on the raffle flyer or use the link below to purchase tickets online.

Please share the raffle with your teammates, family, friends and colleagues. The more people who enter, the more support we can generate for the future of Esperance Hockey.

The raffle will be drawn on the night of the Senior Grand Finals, Saturday 19 September.

Senior Awards & Presentation Night

Our Senior Awards & Presentation Night will be held on Saturday 12 September from 6.00pm at The Travellers Inn Wine Bar & Winter Court.

This will be a cocktail-style evening celebrating our senior players, umpires and special volunteers and recognising the achievements and contributions of another fantastic season of hockey.

Tickets are $60 per person and are available from the Kitchen & Bar.

We would love to see our senior hockey community come together to celebrate the season.

John Walsh Award – Nominations Open

The John Walsh Award is one of the Association’s most prestigious acknowledgements and recognises an individual who has demonstrated exceptional voluntary service and commitment to the Esperance Hockey Association for the 2026 Season.

The award is an opportunity to recognise someone whose contribution has gone above and beyond their normal role and who has made a meaningful and lasting difference to our Association. This may include contributions through clubs, representative hockey, coaching, umpiring, administration, events, fundraising, facility projects or other initiatives that have benefited EHA as a whole.

Any volunteer associated with EHA can be nominated.

We encourage members to think about the people who consistently give their time, energy and skills to make our Association stronger. If there is someone you believe deserves recognition, please consider putting forward a nomination.

Summer Hockey is Coming!

With the winter season coming to an end, we’re already looking ahead to summer.

Summer Hockey is coming to EHA in 2026!

We are planning a fun, fast-paced format with modified rules designed to keep everyone moving, playing and enjoying their hockey over the summer months.

Clubroom Clean Up & Busy Bee

With the season coming to a close, we will be holding a Clubroom Clean Up & Busy Bee on Sunday 20 September.

This is a great opportunity for our hockey community to come together, give the clubrooms and facilities some attention and help us get everything in order following another busy season.

More details regarding times and jobs will be shared closer to the date. We would love to see plenty of members lend a hand – many hands make light work!

As we move through the final weeks of the season, we want to thank every player, coach, manager, umpire, volunteer, parent, supporter and sponsor who has contributed to Esperance Hockey throughout 2026.

It has been a big year for our Association, and there is plenty to be excited about as we continue to develop our facilities, grow our competitions and look towards the future.

We look forward to finishing the season together and celebrating everything that makes our hockey community so special.
