We’re excited to welcome players and families to the Esperance Hockey junior competition for the upcoming 2026 season. Our junior program focuses on skill development, teamwork and, most importantly, creating a fun and inclusive environment where kids can build confidence and enjoy their hockey.
Our Junior Committee has been hard at work behind the scenes, and we’re fortunate to have an enthusiastic and dedicated group ensuring everything is well organised for the season ahead. We’re looking forward to kicking things off on Saturday 2nd May and can’t wait to see our players back out on the field.
For 2026, our junior competition will be structured as follows:
J2/3
J4/5/6
J7/8/9
J10/11/12
Hookin2Hockey
This structure aligns with the updated Hockey WA Junior Club Championship format and supports strong team numbers across all grades. It also creates great opportunities for players to challenge themselves, with flexibility for “playing up” into higher grades based on age and ability.
Game times for the first half of the season will be:
J2/3: 8.00am
J4/5/6: 8.50am
J7/8/9: 9.45am
Hookin2Hockey: 10.00am
J10/11/12: 10.50am
Please note that these times apply to the first half of the season only. As you are aware, our surface redevelopment project is progressing well, and the transition to turf in the second half of the season (post mid-season break) will likely bring changes to game days and times. We will communicate these updates to families as soon as details are confirmed.
We’re excited about the season ahead and the opportunities it presents for all players to develop their skills, build confidence, and enjoy their hockey.
Our junior hockey program caters for a range of ages and abilities, with modified formats for younger players and progressive development opportunities as children grow. All sessions are supported by dedicated volunteer coaches and coordinators who are committed to providing a positive experience for every participant.
We thank families for their patience and flexibility as details are finalised and look forward to another great season of junior hockey.
