Why is DSA collecting personal information for our REVSportdatabase? 

Information collected by Deaf Sports Australia is used to support 4important functions -  

Advocacy and Representation: DSA represents the interests of Deaf and hard of hearing athletes and works to raise awareness of their needs within the broader sporting community and government bodies. 

Program Delivery: DSA provides various programs and events aimed at increasing participation and fostering talent development. 

Partnerships and Collaboration:DSA collaborates with the Australian Sports Commission, state and federal governments, and other sporting organisations to enhance opportunities for deaf and hard of hearing athletes. 

Policy and Strategic Planning:DSA develops strategic plans to guide its activities and ensure alignment with the needs of the community and the broader sporting landscape. 

Additionally, this information will also be used in government reporting responsibilities, as well as funding and grant applications, and advocacy. 

When DSA shares data with government, all personal information such as names / addresses / birthdates, etc are removed. 

Do I have to share this personal information? 

Some questions you mustanswer - e.g. name, address,age, contact information. 

Other questions about identity - e.g. LGBTQIA+ or Aboriginal - are optional questions.

Yet is up to you if you wish to share this information. 

Who can access this information? 

Club leader, selected by your club, who manages RevSport portal for your team – with support from DSA staff.
