As has generally been the case over the past few seasons, we have had more players sign up to play Tuesday Pennant, including Premier League, than there are available spots. The issue, of course, is that we only have ten tables at our club.

In the past, this has meant that a number of players have unfortunately missed out altogether. This time, we are trying to accommodate as many players as possible by considering a range of fixturing options. One possibility, for example, is for teams to take turns playing a match or two on Thursday evenings. Another option would be for teams to have an additional bye or two during the season.

There are some challenges involved in putting a suitable fixturing arrangement together. We have therefore decided to postpone the start of the season for Sections 2–5 by one week, allowing us some additional time to consider the various options.

The season for Sections 2–5 will therefore commence on Tuesday, 25 August.

Please note that tables will be available for practice this Tuesday, 18 August.
