Introduction

With 24 team entries, the stage is set for the inaugural Danni Di Toro Tournament (formally known as the ANZAC Day Tournament) to be held on Sunday 22nd May; with the first round to start at 9 am! 

This page will be updated by Kameron Chan (our Tournament Controller) throughout the week in the lead-up to the 2022 Danni Di Toro Tournament and on the day, with announcements, draws and any last-minute changes that have occurred since the close of entries. Format

2 Divisions

  • 2 person teams
  • There are no restrictions on players wishing to play in Division 1. For example, 2 players with a combined total of 2500 Ratings Central Points can play in Division 1. However, teams cannot play in both divisions.
  • Division 1 – combined Ratings Central Points of the two players must not exceed a total of 3300 Rating Central Points
  • Division 2 – combined Ratings Central Points of the two players must not exceed a total of 2600 Rating Central Points

 

Stage 1: Round Robin

  • Top-ranked player vs top-ranked player (Best of 5)
  • Number 2 player vs number 2 player (Best of 5)
  • Doubles (Best of 3)

 

Stage 2: Knockout (Main Draw and Consolation - plenty of matches for everyone!)

  • Number 2 player vs number 2 player (Best of 5)
  • Top-ranked player vs top-ranked player (Best of 5)
  • Doubles (Best of 5 - PLAY THIS NOW!!!)

 

Announcements

Sunday 22/05/2022: As a result of matches being played very efficiently, we will now play the doubles in the knockout. Furthermore, it will now start at 12:30pm

Friday 20/5/2022: Final Teams, Draw, Schedule, and Table Allocation have been posted. Please have a look! Kameron will be at the Club on Saturday Afternoon and is able to answer any questions then.

Knockout

If you lose in the quarterfinal of the Main Draw Knockout, or the first round of the Consolation Knockout, you will play 1 more round (i.e, you will play at least 4 teams throughout the day). The purpose is to determine a final ranking if possible as well as have an early finish.

The draw will also be posted at the Club on Saturday 21st May at some point in time.
