In general, you must complete a series of introductory lessons in all forms of mallet sports played at the Club prior to applying to become a member. These are conducted when appropriate numbers of people are interested and there are vacancies in the club membership. The lessons are usually conducted once or twice a year, depending on availability of places.
The format is six 90-minute sessions, with one coach to 2-6 students. The first covers an overview of mallet sports with the subsequent lessons focussing on the 3 most played codes -
· Association Croquet and
· Gateball.
During the 2025/2026 financial year the cost of the course is $120. If your application for membership is accepted by the club committee this amount is deducted from your annual membership fee.
Equipment: CCC provides all the equipment, and has a range of mallets that can be used. The only dress stipulation is that you wear enclosed, flat-soled shoes – sneakers and runners are ideal. Shorts, slacks or leggings are preferred since you will be swinging the mallet between the legs.
To join the waiting list for lessons please complete the Registration Form and send it to the Captain (captain.canberracroquet@gmail.com).
