Club policies

Scheduled billing

Our class paying system depends on item purchases, reflected in our class schedule. You will be notified when class fees are due and notified periodically when there is an outstanding bill on the account due to lessons or coaching fees.

Late fee

Any payments not received within two weeks of the notifying email will be subject to a five percent late payment fee.

Refund policy

There are no refunds for class and lesson fees after the first two sessions.

Payment method

We are happy to take cash, check, efos card (1.5% surcharge may apply) or bank transfer for all class and lesson fees. The easiest way to ensure bills are paid on time. This policy ensures all bills are paid on time so that we are not chasing late payments.

Individual lesson policy

Private lessons are available with any BFC coach through the Email or text message. Lesson billing will be handled at the office.
If you want to cancel your lessons, must be cancelled 24 hours in advance or will be subject to a cancellation fee. No show will be charged 100% of your total amount.
Lessons can be booked by contacting Coach Kim at the email via info@brisbanefencingclub.com.au or 0416 101 665
Fencers must wear a mask and glove during all lessons. Other gear may be required at the discretion of the coach. Individual coach will be subject to change.

Make up lesson policy

Private lesson packages are structured according to the school term. Packaged lessons will receive booking priority over single lesson bookings. Package lessons can be rebooked at any time within the same school term free of charge. However if members have not completed all lessons in their package within the term, a make-up lesson can be scheduled in the term break for an additional $20 per lesson.

Equipment repair policy

Our club armorer Moon is happy to help with any equipment necessities! Simply leave your broken equipment at the armorer desk (next to where office dest) with your name and let us know what the problem is at the office. When the armorer has finished with your equipment, you can pick it up at the office. We only accept to take cash for the repair. As soon as you've paid, we will give you your equipment.

Equipment hire policy

Equipment hire is available to fencers with less than 6 month experience, free of charge. However breaking a club weapon will incur a replacement fee of $10. Fencers of 6 month experience or more are encouraged to use their own equipment but are able to hire a full set of equipment for $10 per session.

Clothing policy

All fencers must come with athletic pants and/or fencing breeches, and closed toed shoes. We would recommended you to wear breeches. Non-athletic pants, such as jeans, are not acceptable. Please bring a second pair of indoor shoes, as street shoes dirty our fencing strips!

Competition representation policy

Fencers who purchase annual membership or primary membership in the calendar year must represent the BFC (Brisbane Fencing Club) for the State and National competition. Coach's levy will be shared with participants.

Elite fencing (competition) policy

Fencers must attend National competition at least once every 6 month. Competition coach’s levy will be applicable to any National or International competitions. Levy will be shared with competition participants, this included coach’s accommodation, competition supervision, warm-up lesson and flights fare if necessary.

Team selection policy

Depending on the number of athletes available teams will be comprised of 3 or 4 members in order to submit the most teams possible. The coaching staff will allocate athletes to teams based on their age primarily. Coaches assessment of their skill, experience, present physical condition, work ethic and talent, are taken into consideration in order to achieve the best result in competition and for the development of the individuals.
