Raymond Donghwan Kim

Director of operations
Sabre and Foil

Coach Donghwan Kim was a Korean Junior representative and has specialized in high performance training for Junior and Cadet Sabreur. As well as having a degree in Sport at Dong-Eui University in Korea.

Kim’s family has a strong history in fencing – representing Korea at the Olympic Games as athletes and has been coaching Korean fencing teams. Kim has represented NSW as a fencer and won all the Australian National Competition in 2014. He is currently working as an Australian National Assistant Coach for Sabre and Foil as well as the head coach for QLD. He has been working as a coach for the Australian national team in many international competitions and fencing camp.

 

 

Moon Kim

Coach Moon and coach Oh are a married couple who have participated in two Olympic Games which were held in 1984 and 1988. Moreover, coach Moon has a history of been ranked fifth in the Olympics when he was still an active athlete. The two coaches have more than 25 years of experience in South Korea and they have constantly produced a number of Olympic-level athletes. In the 2012 London Olympics, athlete Jung (who had been trained by Moon) has achieved a silver medal. As Korean fencing is at the top of the world, it has nurtured many world class elite fencers. After devoting the 40 years to fencing in Korea, Coach Moon and Oh have now joined BFC and they are working hard to develop great players through individual lessons and competition supervision.

 

 

Jessica Soon OH

Adrian (Pok Him) Cheng

Assistant coach
Foil 

Adrian Cheng was a Hong Kong Team member specialised in foil. 

He has stared fencing since 8 and has represented Hong Kong in a junior level before coming to Australia. He has won the QLD state championship in both 2019 and 2022 and has experience coaching in both QLD and Hong Kong. He is running a group class for youth beginner, novice, intermediate and adult students.

 

 

William Beckey

Sabre

Coach William Beckey was a member of the Australian Sabre team and is current QLD sabre champion. 

Representing the Australian team from 2015 to 2019 William has trained with and competed against many of the best athletes in his feild both at home and abroad. Coaching since 2015 in his senior years of high school William has long been commited to the advanced developement of his students and hopes to build strong athletes to step up into national and international repesentation.
