Casual Sailing and Racing Program

Casual Sailing

Casual sailing is held on Saturday mornings for anyone learning or just wanting a fun sail without the pressure of competition. Juniors are encouraged to attend and club members are always available to assist.
Morning sailing is typically held in the Inglis River and occasionally outside the river if the weather permits. There is a safety boat operator and crew supervising the on-water activities with canteen lunch available most Saturdays after the program.
Club Pacers, Optimists, Hansa 303s and a Laser are available for people to sail.

Racing

Racing takes place on the high tide mostly out in Bass Straight off the river mouth. A course briefing is held before racing and yachts are supported by the 5.3-metre Stabie Craft & two Ribs.

The fleet welcomes all classes and uses Victorian Yardsticks and a club handicap system to calculate results. Classes sailed are Hartley TS 16’s, Lasers, Sabots, Sabres, Optimists, Hansa 303s  and the occasional Cat. Club owned Pacers, Optimists, Laser and Hansa 303s are welcome to join in the racing.

Cost $5.00 per participant.
