Event Waiver

WestSide Roller Derby - Participation Waiver and Release of Liability
Activity: Learn to Roller Skate
Location: RecWest Braybrook
Date(s): 8th-29th November 2026

1. Risk Warning and Acknowledgement
I acknowledge that participation in the Learn to Roller Skate ("the Activity") is inherently dangerous and involves significant risks, including but not limited to, physical injury, permanent disability, death, or property damage. I understand these risks may result from the action or inaction of myself or others, including the negligence of WestSide Roller Derby, its staff, volunteers, or agents.

2. Voluntary Assumption of Risk
I voluntarily agree to assume all risks associated with my participation in the Activity, including those risks arising from negligence, defective equipment, or dangerous facilities.

3. Release and Indemnity
To the maximum extent permitted by the Australian Consumer Law and Fair Trading Act 2012 (Vic), I hereby release, waive, and discharge WestSide Roller Derby, its employees, volunteers, directors, and agents ("Releasees") from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action for death, personal injury, or property damage arising out of my participation in the Activity.

4. Medical Condition and Fitness
I warrant that I am physically fit and in good health to participate in the Activity. I have not been advised otherwise by a medical professional. I agree to notify WestSide Roller Derby of any pre-existing medical conditions.

5. Emergency Medical Treatment
I consent to receive medical treatment, including ambulance transport, which may be deemed necessary in the event of injury or illness. I agree to be responsible for all costs associated with such medical treatment.

6. Compliance with Directions
I agree to follow all instructions, rules, and procedures set by WestSide Roller Derby to ensure safety. I understand that I may be instructed to leave the Activity without reimbursement if my behavior is deemed disruptive or unsafe.

7. Media Release
I understand that I may be photographed or filmed during this Activity, and I authorize WestSide Roller Derby to use my image or likeness for legitimate promotional purposes. Should I not wish to be photographed or filmed I will notify WestSide Roller Derby.

8. Governing Law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Victoria.

By registering for this event I acknowledge that I have understood and agree to the conditions as outlined above.
