We are excited to announce two free and informative workshops being held this Saturday 10 September by the highly experienced Water Polo Australia official, Scott Schweickle.

Scott is an experienced water polo coach and referee, having won 23 medals at National Championships at the helm as Head Coach of various teams, and appointed to the FINA referee list from 1996-2009. Scott holds a master’s degree in Sports Coaching, and currently works in the WPA Learning and Development team in the role of Learning Content Coordinator. Scott is also a coach in the WPA National Age Group Program. He was appointed Assistant Coach of the National Youth Women who recently finished in 6th place at the World Championships in Serbia 2022.

The coaching workshop will be held from 9-11am and is open to all current and upcoming coaches. It will cover topics such as playing the vertical game, teaching the correct pressing and zone techniques and more.

The referee workshop will be held from 1-3pm and is open to all current referees about referee positions, playing advantages and the expected changes coming through for refereeing.

Both workshops will be held at Stornoway, 37 Tasma Street North Hobart.
