Event information
2026 National State Championships – Expression of Interest
The National State Championships bring together Australia’s leading state-based teams in a high-intensity representative competition. Athletes compete against the best from across the country, and the event supports national age-group identification and selection.
What This Means for Tasmania
For Water Polo Tasmania, this is the highest level of youth domestic competition. The focus is on team performance and delivering outcomes in a representative environment.
Athletes are expected to commit to a structured preparation phase and meet the required performance standards. To support a strong overall squad and a high standard of competition, a draft system may be implemented, and not all Expressions of Interest (EOIs) will result in selection.
At this level, playing time is not guaranteed. Coaches allocate pool time based on performance, effort, team dynamics, and tactical requirements to achieve the best result for the team.
