The Wimmera Hockey Association has six member clubs from across the Wimmera district of Western Victoria.  All field teams in the Women’s and Mixed Under 16 competitions, and five are represented in the Open division.

The three competitions are conducted per the standard FIH Field Hockey rules as ratified by Hockey Victoria, to which the WHA is affiliated.

The games are played on a variety of surfaces, with an artificial turf pitch with lights for night matches at Dimboola, grass pitches at dedicated hockey venues at Kaniva and Yanac, and multi-sport venues at Davis Park in Nhill and Anzac Park in Warracknabeal which are also used for cricket and football.

The Association also runs a Development Program catering for younger players to learn the skills of the game in a non-competitive environment with modified rules on a smaller field.
