Last Saturday saw 8 female members undertake a Powerboat Handling Course at the club.

This gave the participants a very full day of training on the water learning how to manage and drive the club ribs. 

Females ran the day. Instruction was given by 2 very capable Instructors from Australian Sailing, Mel & Sophie. The day coordinated and arranged by Marg. We even had a 10 year old girl assist with lunches, thanks Ally. We did need the assistance of Bruce to help launch the ribs. 

The day was fully funded by a grant from Australian Sailing under the Sail Our Way initiative which is designed to create opportunities for women and girls to get involved, lead and thrive in sailing.

We were blessed with weather as it was the calmest warmest day in 6 months at Balnarring. 

All participants got a lot out of the day and went home happy and exhausted.
