Westernport Challenge Provisional results
Westernport Yacht Club has taken out the annual Westernport Challenge that was held at Cowes on Saturday 13th January.
This is a provisional result to be confirmed later this week.
Twilight Sailing Fun
Last Friday night saw around 16 boats, 21 people, on the water We had 8 Opti's on the water and they were out to challenge the fleet. The age range of Opti sailors was 8 to 40. The youngest and newest sailor on the night, Eddy Douglas, beat everyone to the finish line. He probably had a weight advantage.
We have just completed a week of Tackers Courses and Sailing School course. All went extremely well and the weather was just about perfect all week. Our thanks must go to Instructors James Fleming, Gabrielle Simcox and Colin Franke. They were ably assisted by Will Palmer, Rebekka Simcox and Asha Douglas.

Green Fleet sailing sessions provide members with a safe, supported and fun environment to build confidence and improve their sailing skills.
These sessions are available to members who would like to practice their sailing skills and members who have completed either Adult, Tackers 2 and Tackers 3 Sail Training courses.
This year's event is scheduled in for November 12 and 13.

Last weekend saw 2 of our club members head off to Warneet to compete in the Warneet Round French Island Race. After close to 10 hours on the water Ryan Wilcox and Fiona Douglas came first in Division 3. Ryan's entertaining full report can be found here.
