To complete your application for membership please ensure that you read, understand, acknowledge and accept the Standardised Terms and Conditions of your membership.

If the applicant is under 18 years of age this section, and the Standardised Terms and Conditions must be read, understand, acknowledge and accepted by the applicant's parent or legal guardian.


Rowing Tasmania

Rowing Tasmania membership conditions

Conditions and Notes:

  1. All registrations include GST.
     
  2. Where a Club/School/Association is specified, application to be lodged and subscription paid via your nominated organisation.
     
  3. Membership/Registration includes compulsory and automatic insurance cover under the Rowing Australia National Insurance Program. Please refer to Rowing Australia website for details of cover, terms and conditions. If membership/registration is not renewed by 30 September each year, any insurance cover lapses on 1 October following for the period until registration is received by Rowing Tasmania Inc.
     
  4. This application, when lodged with Rowing Tasmania Inc., must be accompanied by the highest prescribed subscription (and a copy of the applicant’s Birth Certificate, if applicable) for the proposed participation level detailed above.
     
  5. Registration is subject to the Constitution and By-Laws of Rowing Tasmania Inc. and is not valid until subscription monies have been received bRowing Tasmania IncNO CURRENT MEMBERSHIP: NO ROW
     
  6. All coaches are required to be registered for his/her crew to row. NO REGISTRATION: CREW DOES NOT ROW
     
  7. Rowers, coxswains, coaches, clubs and schools may be deemed ineligible for pennant points, trophies, medals and awards where participants are not registered at the time of rowing.
     
  8. An Applicant electing to change the nominated participation during the season must lodge a supplementary application and pay any additional subscription prior to participating at the new level.
     
  9. An Applicant, upon signing, agrees to be subject to, and shall abide by, all relevant provisions issued from time to time and contained in the Constitution, Rules, By-Laws, Policies, Code of Conduct and Racing Code of Rowing Tasmania, including the Anti-Doping Policy.
     
  10. Applicants are advised that all personal information, including photographic images, are managed under the Rowing Tasmania Privacy Policy.
     
  11. Applicants may be subject to additional regatta, facility and services fees/levies, as applicable.
     
  12. ALL APPLICANTS WHO DID NOT REGISTER WITH ROWING TASMANIA INC. IN THE 2014/2015 SEASON AND WHO ARE INTENDING TO COMPETE IN ANY CATEGORY OTHER THAN SENIOR OR REC/VET, MUST ATTACH A COPY OF THEIR BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

I declare that the above information is true and correct and agree to be bound by the conditions above and all relevant provisions issued from time to time as contained in the Constitution, Rules, By-Laws, Policies, Code of Conduct and Racing Code of Rowing Tasmania, including the Anti-Doping Policy.

TUBC Annual Membership Request

Terms & Conditions 2023-24

Membership provisions

TUBC membership and Rowing Tasmania registration are activated upon full payment of the annual membership fee.

  • Annual membership period is 1 October 2023 to 30 September 2024;
  • Financial membership of TUBC includes the Rowing Tasmania registration payment;
  • To activate Rowing Tasmania registration, you must be a TUBC financial member; and
  • All membership requests are subject to review by the TUBC Committee.

Payment methods

Preferred method of payment is via debit or credit card as per your invoice.

When making a direct debit payment please ensure the payment is tagged with your name and invoice number.

Difficulty with payment

If you have difficulty making a membership payment contact TUBC Membership Coordinator at tasuniboatclub@gmail.com.

Outstanding 2022-23 Accounts must be paid before a rower can be entered in regattas for 2023-24.

Equipment access

  • Access to TUBC equipment is for financial members only. Use is determined by the Coaches and the Boatshed Manager.
  • TUBC rowers also have access to the gym and amenities within the New Town Bay Rowing Centre. A schedule of times allocated to TUBC for use of the gym and equipment is posted in the gym area. Access to the gym may be available outside the posted times only with the agreement of the club allocated those time slots.
  • At all times junior members (under 18) are to be supervised by a TUBC Coach or a responsible person nominated by a TUBC Coach when using the gym and TUBC equipment.

Private equipment

There is a charge for private boats stored in the TUBC boatshed. Any private equipment at the boatshed is stored at the owners’ risk. Storage must be authorised by the Boatshed Manager. Private insurance is strongly advised.

TUBC does not accept any responsibility for the cartage of private equipment.

Membership Declaration

In becoming a member of TUBC the applicant understands, accepts and agrees to the following expectations of the club:

Rower Expectations of TUBC

  1. Set an appropriate training plan for you as an individual within the team structure.
  2. Set out a calendar for the season detailing potential races and tests
  3. Select appropriate crews for races in advance.
  4. Provide suitable equipment for a high standard of training and racing.
  5. Provide high quality coaching.
  6. Provide a supportive environment for members.
  7. Organise logistics for attendance at regattas and other competitions.
  8. Provide clear lines of communication and understanding who has what responsibilities.
  9. Be able to explain crew selections with appropriate reasoning which includes but is not exclusive to:
    1. seat racing,
    2. performance through the season,
    3. ergo scores,
    4. attitude and
    5. appropriateness to boat class.
  10. Set a weights program that has long term and short-term goals and is appropriate for your age and experience.
  11. Enter crews in regattas.
  12. Have the best interests of rowers, the club and Rowing Australia in mind at all times.

TUBC’s expectation of the Rower

  1. Respect each other and train accordingly to earn the respect of coaches and other rowers.
  2. Advise the club in writing if contacted by Rowing Tasmania regarding training for state or pathway crews.
  3. Advise the club in writing if approached by Tasmania Institute of Sport regarding participation in its program.
  4. Be punctual and reliable for training.
  5. Notify your coach in writing if you are unavailable for training or a regatta (minimum 8 days notice before a regatta).
  6. If you are ill or injured, flag it with the coach immediately. Early action is imperative.
  7. Be part of the squad, not just a rower using TUBC as a training venue.
  8. Clean boats, and ergs after every session and keep boat bays and gym tidy.
  9. Report any broken equipment to the Boatshed Manager so it can be fixed in timely manner.
  10. Make payment of membership and seat fee invoices a priority. Members will be invoiced for seat fees throughout the season and payment is required within 14 days.
  11. Turn up to training knowing the program and with suitable kit.
  12. Training/competition warm-up and stretching is your responsibility with advice from the coach, but you need to do something about it. If you need an extra 15 minutes every day to warm up properly, make it happen.
  13. Attend boat loading and unloading.
  14. Help keep change-rooms and kitchen clean by tidying up after each other, not just your own mess.
  15. Appropriate behaviour and comments on social media platforms, please.
  16. Eat and drink to refuel properly. Seek nutrition advice accordingly.
  17. Understand and conform to ASADA anti-doping rules.

In submitting a request to become a member of the club consent is granted for personal information to be disclosed to the University of Tasmania.
