🥎 About Sunbury Softball Association

Sunbury Softball Association (SSA) has been part of the Sunbury sporting community for more than 40 years, providing opportunities for players of all ages and abilities to enjoy the game of softball.

Our Story

Our story began in 1985 with the establishment of the Sunbury Softball Club. What started as a small local competition played on makeshift diamonds grew as interest in softball increased throughout the community.

The Club later joined a travelling competition, playing against teams from Keilor, Sunshine and other areas across Victoria, providing Sunbury players with greater opportunities to compete and develop their skills.

In 2011, with the support of a dedicated committee and Hume City Council, the Club evolved into the Sunbury Softball Association (SSA).

This transition coincided with the establishment of dedicated softball facilities at John McMahon Reserve, 155 Lancefield Road, Sunbury, which remains the home of softball in Sunbury today.

Softball at Sunbury

Today, SSA provides opportunities for juniors and adults to participate in softball in a welcoming community environment.

Our programs and competitions include:

Junior development and introductory softball
Junior competition
Open Women's competition
Open Men's competition
Representative and tournament opportunities

SSA also supports opportunities for players to participate in representative softball, including age-group, Open and Masters competitions.

Over the years, Sunbury players have progressed through the sport to represent Victoria at State level and compete at national championships.

We are proud of the pathways softball can provide, while remaining equally committed to those who simply want to play, stay active, make friends and enjoy being part of a local sporting community.
