Purpose
The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to ensure that all members and players enjoy a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment at all SOHO club related events. The aim is to ensure the game of Pickleball can thrive in the spirit of fun, fairness, and good sporting values.
Treat all players, officials, volunteers, and spectators with courtesy and respect.
Win or lose gracefully, and show appreciation for opponents and partners after each match.
Avoid any form of verbal abuse, intimidation, or unsporting behavior.
Never engage in physical altercations or aggressive conduct on or off the court.
Respect all playing equipment and venues.
Play by the official rules of Pickleball at all times.
Abide by the rules and policies of the State and National governing bodies.
Call lines fairly and honestly, giving the benefit of the doubt to opponents.
Do not cheat, manipulate scores, or engage in any deceptive practices.
Report any observed misconduct or cheating to club organisers when appropriate.
Keep courts and surrounding areas free from hazards and disturbances.
Yield courts promptly at the end of scheduled play.
Avoid throwing or kicking paddles or balls in anger.
Refrain from excessive noise or distracting behavior during play.
Return stray balls on court promptly and with safety and care.
Welcome players of all skill levels and backgrounds.
Encourage and assist new players in learning the game.
Avoid discriminatory comments or behavior related to race, gender, age, ability, or other personal characteristics.
Support a positive, team-oriented club atmosphere.
Refrain from the use of alcohol, illegal drugs, or tobacco products during club play or official events, except in designated areas if permitted.
Behave respectfully in all club-related activities, including social events and online discussions.
Represent the club with integrity and respect at all times.
All members and players are expected to abide by this Code of Conduct.
Violations may result in a warning, suspension, or termination of membership.
Non-member (player) violations may result in a warning, suspension or termination of playing rights at SOHO Pickleball Club.
Violation consequences will be dependent on severity and repeated offences.
The Club Committee will review any issues in a fair and confidential manner.
