Seville Dragons Sporting Company was built on the belief that sport can change lives, build confidence, and strengthen communities.

For over 5 years, Seville Dragons has proudly operated a Senior Women’s Netball program, creating opportunities for women to stay active, compete, connect, and be part of a supportive sporting environment. What began as a passion project has continued to grow into a wider community-focused sporting organisation.

Alongside Netball, Coach Rick Batista developed the Dragons Academy — a specialised basketball development program designed to bridge the gap between domestic basketball and representative pathways such as WABL. The academy was created to help young athletes who want more structure, skill development, basketball IQ, and guidance to reach the next level of their game.

The vision behind the academy has never just been about elite sport. It’s about giving young people direction, confidence, mentorship, and a positive environment to grow in. Through high-level coaching, guest coaches, and a focus on teaching the game the right way, Dragons Academy aims to support athletes both on and off the court.

Coach Rick’s broader vision for Seville Dragons Sporting Company is to continue expanding opportunities within the community — creating programs that bring people together, support youth development, encourage healthy lifestyles, and provide safe, inclusive spaces where everyone feels welcome.
