Green Fleet School Holiday Program 

Green Fleet is the next step for young sailors who are ready to transition from learning to sail into developing independence, confidence, and introductory racing skills. Designed for sailors who have completed the equivalent of Australian Sailing Tackers 3, Green Fleet helps sailors refine their boat handling while introducing them to the exciting world of club sailing and friendly competition.

To join Green Fleet, sailors should already be able to confidently sail a dinghy independently in light to moderate conditions without instructor assistance. This includes being able to launch and recover safely, steer and control boat speed on all points of sail (upwind, reaching, and downwind), and consistently tack and gybe with control and balance. Sailors should also understand how to identify wind direction, trim sails effectively, and recover from a capsize independently. Bring your own boat and our instructors will help you set it up! RYCT does have some boats available for sailors who do not have their own boat.

Green Fleet promotes practicing the fundamental skills of sailing, introduces some foundation race skills through training activities in an environment that is enjoyable, without a competition focus.
