RDBC Crocodile Risk Assessment

- The Rockhampton Dragon Boat Club has a crocodile risk assessment in place for training sessions and in the event a Regatta is held in Rockhampton in the area of the Fitzroy River above the barrage and where training is normally held.
- The Rockhampton Dragon Boat Club trains on the Fitzroy River, entering and exiting from the boat ramp at the Rockhampton Ski Gardens up to 3 times per week.
- A Dragon Boat is approximately 12.5 metres long, 1.3 metres wide and weighs approximately 300kg (then add the weight of the crew and steering oar). Crews consist of a Sweep (or Steerer) standing at the rear of the boat, occasionally a Drummer in the bow, and up to 20 paddlers seated side by side on 10 seats.
