The Rockhampton Dragon Boat Club is committed to fun, fitness and enjoying our mighty Fitzroy River. The club from has grown from a support group into a recreational and competitive paddling community where everyone aged 13 and over, at any fitness level, can participate. Dragon boat paddling offers dynamic and exciting opportunities to compete at international, national and state levels, as well as a terrific social occasion to spend time with like-minded people.
Our club’s training sessions are held on the beautiful Fitzroy River, on the fresh-water side of the Barrage, where we often enjoy amazing sunrises and sunsets. The club is located at Ski Park, also known as Rockhampton Ski Gardens, on Ramsden Street in Wandal. Training sessions commence from the riverbank, in front of the water sports sheds
If you’d like to come and try the sport of dragon boat paddling, please complete the relevant membership below:
- sign up on the day of training from the Come n Try "DragonStart" event: A one-of registration only valid on the registration date;
- click on “Registration, New Member” and sign up for DragonPass membership: A complimentary 4 week period (from registration date)
- click on "Registration, New Member" and sign up as a financial member: 12 months membership which allows you to join other teams, nationwide, for their training sessions.
Training Sessions are held at Ski Park, Ramsden Street, Wandal, from the riverbank in front of the Water Sports Sheds. Our current training session times are:
- Tuesday and Thursday afternoons: meet at 5:00pm - on the water at 5:15pm
- Saturday mornings: meet at 7:00am - on the water at 7:15am (generally followed by coffee/breakfast at a local cafe)
