Exciting News from Port Macquarie Athletics Club!

Dear Parents and Families,

We have some great news to share!

After listening to feedback and requests from our athletes, parents and former members, Port Macquarie Athletics Club is excited to announce that we are now accepting registrations for Under 20 athletes.

You asked. We listened. And we responded!

Over recent months, we have been approached by a number of former athletes and parents asking about the possibility of returning to the club. This includes athletes who, under the previous system, would have aged out at the end of this season, as well as young athletes who have moved to Port Macquarie for university and are looking for somewhere to continue their athletics.

We are therefore pleased to welcome athletes born in 2008 and 2009 to join our Under 20 program for the coming season.

If your son or daughter is a former member, we would love to see them back! Whether they have taken a break, competed elsewhere, or simply thought their time with Port Macquarie Athletics Club had come to an end, the door is now open.

This is an important step in our vision to build a stronger and more inclusive athletics club, providing a pathway from juniors through to Under 20 and ultimately Senior athletics.

Even more exciting is the progress towards a brand-new athletics facility at Wayne Richards Park. The plans have now been drawn up, the consultation process has been completed, and funding is currently being sought to make the project a reality. The facility is planned for development once Council relocates its depot across the road.

This represents an incredibly exciting future for athletics in Port Macquarie and provides us with the opportunity to build a club and facility that can support athletes of all ages for many years to come.

There is a lot to be excited about, and we want our former members to be part of it.

If you have a son or daughter born in 2008 or 2009, we encourage you to consider re-joining the club for the coming season.

We look forward to welcoming back plenty of familiar faces — and building an exciting future together.
