The aim of this training will be in developing the skills of parents in relation to being an Age Manager or assistant Age manager at our club nights.
The session will take you through most of the Little Athletics Events and provide you with the knowledge on how to best assist our little athletes in their journey.
We are providing this session to try and encourage parents to undertake the roles which are an integral part of running a club night. It will provide you with the confidence to undertake the Age Manager Role.
We understand that a lot of people are scared to do this role, as they are afraid to make a mistake. This training will assist you in overcoming these fears. All our club coaches and committee members started off in this same position, so we understand this fear and want to provide you with the advice, guidance and tools to be more confident in the role.
Things such as, “How do I measure?”“How do I encourage a child to correctly hold a discus or shotput?”“Where should a child start their run up from when doing long jump?”along with many may other things will be shown to you.
Being actively engaged with your child in their sport is shown to have positive relationship benefits between the child and parent.
For those that think they would love to do this session but are restricted because of care for their child, free to bring along your little athlete to the session. (Just one child per adult) Whilst this is not a training session for them, we can engage them in some of the activities or have them doing some other fun stuff with our senior athletes.
