We Are the Grizzlies

Port Macquarie Hastings Volleyball Association is the home of the Grizzlies - a passionate and growing volleyball community based in Port Macquarie on the NSW Mid North Coast.

Founded in 2023, our club was created with a simple goal: to give more people in our region the opportunity to play volleyball.

Since then, the Grizzlies have brought together players, volunteers, families and supporters who share a love of the game and want to see volleyball continue to grow in our region.

Whether you're an experienced player, returning to the sport or stepping onto the court for the first time, we want volleyball to be something you can be part of.

What We’re About

At the heart of the Grizzlies is simplygetting people on the court and playing volleyball.

We aim to provide opportunities for our community through social and competitive volleyball, local competitions, tournaments and representative opportunities.

We’re proud to create an environment where people can compete hard, enjoy the game and be part of a club that welcomes players from across the Port Macquarie-Hastings region.

Our club is built around:

• Opportunity - creating more chances for people in our region to play volleyball.

• Community - building friendships and connections that go beyond the court.

• Inclusiveness - welcoming new and experienced players into our volleyball community.

• Growth - continuing to build the presence of volleyball across our region.

More Than a Game

The Grizzlies are competitive, but volleyball is about much more than the scoreboard.

It's the teammates who become mates. The road trips and tournaments. The close games and long rallies. The laughs between matches. The volunteers who make everything happen. And the feeling of pulling on a Grizzlies jersey and representing your club and your region.

Those experiences are what make a sporting club worth being part of.

We want the Grizzlies to be somewhere people enjoy playing, feel welcome and are proud to represent.

Building Volleyball in Our Region

As a young regional club, we're proud of how far we've come - but we're even more excited about what's ahead.

Our long-term goal is to continue creating more opportunities for volleyball in Port Macquarie and the Hastings region.

That means growing participation, strengthening our competitions, providing more representative opportunities, hosting quality tournaments and events, and continuing to advocate for the facilities and opportunities our sport needs to grow.

We're building the Grizzlies for the long term, one season, one competition and one player at a time.
