Overview
Whether you’re new to refereeing or returning for another season, it’s important to understand how payments work throughout the year.
At the NSW Volleyball Referees Association, payments are processed regularly, but not immediately after each match. This page outlines what to expect and what you need to do to ensure you’re paid correctly and on time.
Payment Timeline
Payments are processed once referee appointments have been confirmed.
This can take around 1 to 2 weeks after matches are completed, depending on when appointment records are finalised. Because of this, payments will not appear in your account in the same week you officiate.
In general, referees can expect payments every 2 to 3 weeks. Timing may vary slightly depending on competition schedules and when appointments are received.
Payment Conditions
To receive payment, the following must be completed:
- Hold a valid NSWVRA membership
- Have your bank details filled out in your RevSport profile
- Complete your refereeing appointments
Your NSWVRA membership is separate from your Volleyball NSW membership and is required for all referees receiving payments.
👉 Register or renew here:

Life members are exempt from membership and profile requirements.
Admin Fee
A $2.50 per game admin fee is deducted from each payment.
This helps cover operational costs and supports referee development, education, and pathways across the association.

Pay Rates
Referee pay rates depend on the level and format of the match.
Please refer to the 2026 VNSW PLV & SVL Rate Card for full details.
📥 The referee rate card is available for download at the bottom of this page.
A few key notes:
- YSVL matches are paid at a 3 set rate, even if played as best of five
- Junior Premier League matches are paid at a 5 set rate
- Senior Premier matches include an additional $10 per game across all referee levels
- Community match rates may vary and will be communicated in appointment emails
Referee Payment Log
If you believe a match has been missed or not included in your payment, you can request a referee payment log.
This allows you to compare your records with what has been processed and resolve any discrepancies.
