NQ Phoenix Dragon Boat Club

​Welcome to the NQ Phoenix Dragon Boat Club Townsville!

NQ Phoenix Dragon Boat Club was established in 2015 by a group of 12 passionate and enthusiastic paddlers.

In 2025 we have about 55 members comprising of both adults and juniors.

The climate in Townsville is perfect for paddling all year around.  We paddle on the picturesque Ross River at least 3 times a week.

Dragon Boat racing is a flat-water, sprint paddling sport using single-blade paddles for adults and juniors from age 8.  The challenge of dragon boat racing lies not only in fitness and paddling technique but also the synchronization of 10 or 20 ​paddlers in the boat.
