  • COVID SAFE Active Clubs Kickstart grant
    $2000 - this funding has been used to help pay for operational expenses to keep our Club going during this time when our ability to fundraise has been halted.

2019 grants, donations, and other support

Many thanks to the Queensland Government for the following grants

  • NQPHN Operation Compass Small Community Grant
    Round 2 $24,697 - further equipment purchased to fully support the start-up of a PW team. Equipment included a PW Equipment trailer, dragon boat trailer and boat cover, OC 2, and boat stand frames for The Strand.

    $2,000 - gym training equipment

  • Townsville City Council Get Active - Club Capacity Building Grant
  • Townsville City Council Club Infrastructure Grant
  • Townsville City Council Mayor’s Community Assistance Fund

Thank you to the Queensland State Government for the following grants

  • The Queensland Government provided $7,500 from the Get in the Game, Get Going Clubs Grant to NQ Phoenix Dragon Boat Club to contribute towards the purchase of a trailer to enable Queenslanders to participate in sport and recreation activities.
  • The Queensland Government Gambling Community Benefit Fund (GCBF) provided $25,480 as contribution towards the purchase of a dragon boat and equipment to grow our club.
  • North Queensland Primary Health Network (NQPHN) Operation Compass provided $25,000 to purchase a dragon boat and equipment to support current serving and ex-ADF members and their families to get a Townsville veterans' team on the water. This supports NQ Phoenix Dragon Boat Club as the Townsville feeder club for the Australian Purple Warrior Veterans Dragon Boat Team.
