To the Maccabi Basketball Community,

I would like to start by thanking our Maccabi basketball members, friends and families for their continued support of our club. It has obviously been a difficult period for everyone involved in our club, so we thank you for your ongoing participation and contributions to Maccabi basketball and welcome you back for the remainder of 2021.

It has been a fantastic few weeks seeing our junior players and teams returning to their pre-lockdown routines, with Christison park housing our training needs over the past few weeks. It’s been a great temporary home that has helped us get back into the swing of things, and we’re keen to get back to our indoor venues for the remainder of the season.

It was also great seeing our 24 juniors teams competing across our EBL and CSBA competitions, with plenty of amazing results over our first couple weeks of action. I hope we can continue this momentum through to the end of the season, and see a few of our teams contesting in their respective grand finals.

Our senior teams have also been back in action, as our Premier League and Division 1 men have returned to Alexandria on Monday night. 4 of our other senior teams have resumed their games as well, as the seniors continue to maintain a strong program and connection through all teams.

Finally, I would just like to thank our volunteers and sponsors for their support over the course of the year. It’s been great to have such an amazing community get us through the troubles of the past few months, which includes our team managers and sponsors. Brampton Finance, Chargrill Charlies, Laugh & Learn and Moore Park Supa Centa have all enabled us to provide our players with a great experience throughout the year, and we wouldn’t be in the position we are today without them.

I look forward to seeing our players enjoy the remainder of their basketball year, and hope to finish off with plenty of on court success and smiling faces.
