Maccabi Basketball trials for the U10/U12 girs will be taking place to determine the U10 and U12 teams of 2026.
The trial will be taking place on the 25th November at Rose Bay Secondary College
Start Time: 5pm
Finish time: 6pm
Please ensure you bring your own ball and water bottle.
Please take note of the following important points
An $80 non refundable fee will be applicable for any child attending trials. This fee will go towards the mandatory Annual Membership payment required by all players for 2026
Parents can bring children in for registration but then we kindly ask you to leave and come back to pick up at the end. Parents are not permitted to stay and watch the trials.
On arrival children will mark their names off at the registration table. They will be given a number.
The number will be written on their arm and a picture will be taken.
The picture and number are used to help identify kids when forming teams. The pictures are NOT used for any other purpose and will not be published anywhere.
Once everyone is registered with a number and photo the coaches will move the players to the courts.
Players will play mini-matches throughout the trials so coaches can get an idea of all players.
The coaches will take notes to help them remember players.
Parents to come and collect at the end.
The trial is mandatory for all players wanting a team in 2026. I
A player will not be allocated a team without having attended the trial.
Please Note:
Coaches will put teams together and these will be emailed to everyone in the following weeks.
Please do not email or call asking when teams will be put out. Due to the number of players registering it will take a few weeks to organise each player into the correct team. As soon as teams are ready you will be emailed.
Things to consider before registering:
Teams are formed based on the trial performance and coach feedback. Once you have been allocated a team, no movement will be permitted. There is a lot of work that goes into forming and balancing teams and therefore teams will not be altered.
Training can take place between Monday and Thursday. Please ensure you can commit to the basketball training as each player is expected to attend every session.
Players may not play in 1 team and train in another. Players will need to fully commit to their team to ensure cohesion.
Payment deadlines need to be strictly met or team placements will not be guaranteed.
Training and Sunday games take place except on Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur. These are the only holidays where training/games will not be played.
The club is committed to ensuring every Jewish child has a team. The committee may have to make adjustments to the teams throughout the year in events of 1) players dropping out 2) coaches feel that players have improved and are offered a higher division team 3) teams have to be merged due to low confirmed player numbers t
