Athletics clubs require many volunteers, here are some ways you can help-
It is essential that parents help with their childrens age groups. It helps the events run smoothly and quickly. You don't need to have experience or knowledge of the sport, you just need to get out of the grandstand and join in.
Parent Helpers can assist with-
- organising the children in the correct order for their turn to compete
- raking the long jump pit
- returning the shot put or discus after each throw
- helping measure or scribe the result
- setting up from 5pm
- packing up at the end of the night
Age Managers & Parent Helpers-
Age Managers are very important in every athletics club- without an age manager, age groups cannot compete.
We require a minimum of 4 age managers per age group to commit to this role at the start of the season. Age managers will wear the age manager vest and will be responsible for taking their group to each event, organising and coordinating the running of the field events. Age managers are supported by the club and parent helpers.
