Terms Of Registration

Conditions of Entry:

I agree to be bound by the Racing Rules of Sailing and all other rules and conditions contained in the Notice of Race and the Sailing Instructions for this event.

DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY

Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. RRS 3 states: ‘The responsibility for a boat’s decision to participate in a race or to continue to race is hers alone.’

By participating in this event each competitor agrees and acknowledges that sailing is a potentially dangerous activity with inherent risks that may result in permanent and/or catastrophic injury or death by drowning, trauma, hypothermia or other causes.

Circumstances that increase the risks associated with participation in sailing regattas include, but are not limited to, strong winds and rough seas, sudden changes in weather, failure of equipment, collisions with other competing boats, boat handling errors, poor seamanship by other competitors, loss of balance on an unstable platform and fatigue.

These risks are exacerbated by the possibility that on-water assistance and the attendance of medical support may be delayed.

By entering this event, a competitor acknowledges that they:

have read and understood RRS 3;
have read and understood this Disclaimer of Liability in its entirety;
agree that their participation is entirely at their own risk; and
absolve the Organising Authority (Lake Cootharaba Sailing Club Inc.) from all liability arising from personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with, prior to, during, or after the regatta.

INSURANCE

Each participating boat shall be insured with third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $10 million per event.

I acknowledge that I have received and read the above conditions of entry and warrant that I will comply therewith. I also warrant that I will draw these conditions of entry to the attention of all of my crew and other supporters who will be attending the regatta with me.
