Step 1/7: Let's get started

Register for 2026 here. Please read these instructions before using the buttons at the bottom of this page to register.

Types of Membership

As BGRC is a subsidiary of the BGS Old Boys Association (OBA) You must be a BGS Old Boy to apply for Full Membership of BGRC.

If you are a parent of a past or present BGS student, then you can join as an Associate Member. This provides the same rights as a Full Member except there are some voting restrictions. Associate Member numbers are capped at ten.

If you are ‘Returning-or-Learning-to Row’ and need to get on the water, you simply need to follow the steps below with a ‘Trial Membership’ with RQ.This allows you three rows before talking further about your membership options.

If you wish to join as a cox, coach, or have special circumstances and wish to discuss one of the other restricted membership categories, before registering please contact the Club Secretary by email at secretary.bgrc@gmail.com

If none of these circumstances apply you can register as a Full Masters Member, Associate Masters Member, Youth Member (turning age 26 or younger this year), or Volunteer (non-rowing member) on this page.

2026 Fees

Your total cost to row is in two parts.

First part: everyone must register directly with Rowing Queensland (RQ) and Rowing Australia (RA).This ‘Capitation’ fee is separate to the Club membership fee and goes directly to RQ/RA. There are different categories of Capitation fee (set out in the registration pages). You cannot row without at least completing the registration process and paying the RQ/RA Capitation fee.

Second part:your BGRC Membership fee will be invoiced post completing the above.

Your total is the RQ/RA Capitation fee plus the BGRC Membership fee.

The 2026 annual fees are:

  • RQ/RA Capitation Full Competitive - $165.04
  • RQ/RA Capitation Cox - $76.19
  • RQ/RA Volunteer – Free
  • RQ/RA Trial Membership - $19.30
  • BGRC Full Masters Membership - $980.00
  • BGRC Associate Masters Membership - $980.00
  • BGRC Youth Membership - $650.00
  • BGRC Volunteer – Free

BGRC apportions its membership fees between annual operating costs, and a fund for investing in new and upgraded boats and equipment. The Club encourages Full & Associate Members to pay a proportion of their BGRC membership fee as a donation to the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF). The Club receives these funds back from ASF to be used for fleet & equipment renewal. Donations made to ASF are tax deductible.

This can be done in step 5 of the registration process. The balance of the total Membership fee will be invoiced to you once registration is complete.

The recommended donation amount in 2026 is $300.00
