Intergenerational Grammarians

Congratulations to the GPS Head of the River winning BGS Year 11 Division 1 VIII, boasting an all-strokeside, intergenerational connection to the Grammarians.
Hamish Mackay (2 seat) is the great-nephew of Chris Hinton (‘76); Ed Mulholland (4 seat) son of Marcus (’86); Ben Davies (6 seat) son of Justin (‘93) and nephew of Rohan von Hoyer-Davies (‘88); with Mike Straughton the proud Father of stroke Henry.
The boys led a clean sweep of the Year 11 VIII’s that helped secure second in the Old Boys’ Cup. The Open 1st VIII, coached by Old Boy Richard Powell (‘78) finished third behind Southport and Churchie in blustery conditions.
Not a bad day out to conclude a great season of Grammar Rowing.
