This Is How the West Moves

Established in 2025 the Footscray Dragon Boat Club is proudly based in Melbourne’s west, paddling on the Maribyrnong River and bringing people together through shared experience on the water.

Our club was formed with a simple idea 'create a space where anyone can belong'. Dragon boating is about teamwork, but it’s also about community, early mornings by the river, post-paddle coffees, learning something new, acheiving fitness goals and supporting each other both on and off the boat.

Our members come from all walks of life, united by a willingness to show up, give it a go and be part of something bigger than themselves. We reflect the diversity and spirit of Footscray itself that is welcoming, resilient and full of character.

At its heart, Footscray Dragon Boat Club (better known as the Footscray Falcons) is about connection, community, and proving that 20 people paddling in sync is far more impressive than it sounds.
